FAQs

What if I have an emergency when the office is closed?

Emergency care is available after hours for patients of record. Please call our main line for assistance, (440) 526-7277. If you are not a current patient, we will be happy to accommodate emergency dental cases during regular office hours.

Do you accept my insurance?

Our Broadview Heights dental office accepts nearly all of the major insurance plans. We are well-versed in the latest coverage trends, and are more than happy to discuss the particulars of your plan with you prior to any treatment you may undergo. To save you time, please have your insurance information available when you schedule your first appointment so that we can have all of your specific insurance information verified before you come in.

We feel that dental insurance is a means of payment, not a means of treatment. We will always treat you in a way that is best for your dental health, not in a way that is best for your dental insurance.

What payment options do you offer?

We accept cash, checks, and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and Discover). Interest free and low interest extended payment plans are available through CareCredit. Our knowledgeable staff can provide you with an application, or you apply online today at CareCredit.

Do you accept referrals?

We love to see patient referrals! We want each of our patients to leave our Broadview Heights dental office fully satisfied that they have received the best clinical and customer care possible. If you feel comfortable referring your friends or family to us, then we've done our job.

What if I have to cancel an appointment?

We believe that your dental health is very important and we take our professional obligations very seriously. Current research continues to find new links between dental/oral disease and many systemic medical conditions. Once a diagnosis is made and a treatment plan is agreed upon, we are committed to be here for you to complete your treatment.

When we schedule an appointment for you, we are committing to you that we will be here to provide your care. We do not overbook our schedule. We believe that you deserve our undivided attention. We want your dental treatment to be unique and dedicated to your specific needs. Likewise, we feel that your choice to schedule an appointment to receive care in our dental office is a commitment as well.

Having said all of this, we know that there will be occasions when your schedule will change abruptly. Please try to give us at least two full business days of notice so that we can make your appointment time available to another person. The larger the block of time you had scheduled, the more time we will need to fill it. If you cancel within 48 hours of your appointment, we reserve the right to collect a cancellation fee from you prior to scheduling any future treatment.

Why do I need X-rays?

X-rays provide us with an important tool for looking at the overall condition of your teeth, roots, and jaw. They help detect problems your dentist cannot see during an oral examination, such as infections in the bone, small areas of decay between teeth, or areas of abnormal growth. They can also pinpoint the locations of cavities in your teeth.

To minimize unneeded exposure, we encourage new patients to transfer any recent X-rays taken by their previous dentist to our Broadview Heights dental office. Our staff would be happy to assist you.

How can I ask Dr. Altizer questions directly?

Dr. Altizer enjoys discussing dentistry and the benefits that state-of-the-art dental technology can provide to you. Please feel free to ask us all of your questions during your dental visits. If you have any questions before or between your visits, you can call our Broadview Heights dental office or email us to ask Dr. Altizer or any team members questions directly.
